In order to get fixes for the inevitable “dot zero” bugs, WordPress officially released wp version 2.6.1. This version is a new update for the previous 2.6 “Tyner” release. Actually, You need NOT upgrade to 2.6.1, IF Wordpress 2.6 is OKAY. Yeah, this is just an ‘Optional Upgrade’. Styling of the admin for right-to-left languages is now much improved. Gettext bug caused by certain PHP configurations is now fixed. For IIS users, it also fixes several permalink problems. Image insertion problems in the Press This feature in IE fixed. Yeah, i finally upgraded the last version of my wordpress.org, wordpress 2.3.3 to wp 2.5. Version 2.5 does include security fixes so it is recommended for all users, you’ll upgrade/update your wordpress as soon as possible.
Yeah, We all are already aware of Wordpress, it is one of the best Content Management Systems (CMS) in blogosphere. In this new wordpress version 2.5, i can see many new & improved features which are better. It comes with a better page/post management system than the previous version 2.3. Admin redesign with a simpler and more modern design, makes my eyes fresh everytime i’m in admin page :). Internet security is now better too, it supports “salted passwords” , now uses the phpass library to stretch and salt all passwords stored in the database, which makes brute-forcing them impractical. WordPress 2.3.2 was released 4 days ago. As you know, i already upgraded my ‘old’ wordpress 2.2.1 to version 2.3.1 in the last post. Now i choose to upgrade again because of the urgent security release.
WordPress 2.3.2 is an urgent security release that fixes a bug that can be used to expose your draft posts. 2.3.2 also suppresses some error messages that can give away information about your database table structure and limits and stops some information leaks in the XML-RPC and APP implementations.
