Take it easy, as you are browsing www.HWDOT.com, you are in the right place now, Here are some tips for solving the problem. You can open registry editor (regedit.exe) then apply a little tweak.

Here step by step to Tweak Shut Down Speed in Windows XP > Registry Editor :

1. Go to “RUN” and type : regedit.exe


2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > System > ControlSet001 > Control

3. Double Click > "WaitToKillServiceTimeOut"


4. Edit String , Value Data 20000 change to > 100


5. click OK, and Restart your computer.

You will feel a FASTER process in the next SHUT DOWN.
